STEAM Programs
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math

In our STEAM Power Room, we encourage our members to explore their ideas and imaginations.
Club members come to our S.T.E.A.M. lab to delve into their imagination, creativity, and curiosity!
Come to STEAM and explore the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. We aim to provide a welcoming environment for youth to get involved in hands-on, experience-based learning and fun. It’s a place where ideas can be conjured up and put into action. Ingenuity and activity are highly encouraged!
What We Do in the STEAM Room
Stop Motion Animation
Use your creativity to develop an idea, create a storyboard, and then using claymation techniques, LEGO people and blocks, or some method of your own imagination to film a stop motion video. It will take time and lots of patience, but be well worth the effort when your vision hits the screen.
Experimentation and Demonstration
Take part in the experiments or demonstrations that deal with a wide variety of STEAM related topics. We have built electromagnets, created lava lamps, explored the density of different liquids, constructed bottle rockets and just experimented with what happens when you mix this with that. We have much more to explore.
Design and Engineering
Get involved with the design and building of towers, bridges, and a variety of contraptions. Work individually or with a friend to create the tallest, longest, and strongest structures possible.
Theater Stagecraft
Help design, engineer, and construct theatrical sets for our BGCSV Riverbend Theater Company. Learn what it takes to plan and build a set for a theatrical production. You will measure, cut, lift, screw together, tape, paint, trim, and a wide array of other skills you never expected to do. In the end, you get to say with pride, “I helped build that!”
Outdoor Learning & Play
Our outdoor classroom, gardens, and nature trail give Club members the chance to play and learn by getting their hands dirty and exploring the natural world around them. Members help plant and care for our gardens, observe wildlife, build forts, climb snowbanks, and take part in STEAM and environmental learning right outside our doors. These spaces are used regularly for hands-on activities and programs like Green Dream Team. It’s a place where curiosity grows and youth can connect with nature in a meaningful way.
Daily Programs

LEGO Corner
A daily option for those who feel like it’s a LEGO building day. Come and just build to your heart's content or take part in many of the monthly design and construction competitions!

Creation Station
It’s a maker space for our members. We have recycled materials and you can use it as you choose. From the creation of robots to simple machines and catapults to works of art, we have made it here.

Chromebooks and Tablets
Take advantage of using our technology for homework completion, learning code, and interacting with STEAM-related games and activities.
