Social and Emotional Learning
Social and emotional skills are just as important as academic achievement. Through evidence-based programming and youth leadership opportunities, BGCSV helps young people build confidence, communication skills, and healthy decision-making habits.

Our Programs Include
Positive Action
Positive Action is a social-emotional curriculum offered during the school year for grades K-12 and integrated into summer programming. The curriculum helps youth navigate challenges with a positive mindset, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop leadership and communication abilities.
Teen & Youth Mental Health First Aid
These programs teach young people how to recognize the signs of mental health challenges in themselves and others, reduce stigma, and seek help when needed.
Teen Conflict Resolution
This program equips teens with tools to manage conflict in healthy, constructive ways. Participants learn communication strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and peer mediation skills that carry into school, work, and relationships.
Youth Leadership
Youth leadership initiatives such as Keystone and Torch Club empower young people to serve their communities, advocate for healthy choices, and develop real-world leadership skills.
