In addition to the more than 800 active members of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, we provide programs to over 650 additional youth in outreach programs across the region.

We believe that children are vulnerable to stress of social changes as never before.  The support networks of the past, neighborhoods where parents and extended families watched, guided and raised their families are mostly gone. Stresses on parents, including economic, time, and social, affect their ability to provide the guidance and support critical to raising healthy, competent, productive adults. More and more frequently, children are presented with opportunities to engage in high-risk behaviors that have tragic, long-term consequences.

At the Boys and Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, SMART Moves has been developed to include various organizations as community partners—as leaders, collaborators, investors, and community counselors.  We recognize that young people become involved in risky behaviors, such as using drugs and alcohol or engaging in premature sexual activity for many reasons.  The very heart of this program is a commitment to overall youth development, engaging community partners, thereby casting a broad net that should help with core issues that lead to risky behavior.

If you would like to discuss bringing SMART Moves to your school or organization, please contact Cory Sullivan at 603-672-1002 or email csullivan@svbgc.org
