Program Summary: The Riverbend School of Theater Art's goal is to provide training, guidance, and enrichment to youth, producing theater at a professional level for a community audience. Through the program, students develop theater arts skills, resulting in increased self-esteem and feelings of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Established in 2006, the program is relatively new but already earning accolades, including endorsement from the N.H. Board of Education as an Extended Learning Opportunity.

We know that performing arts can empower young people to develop or enhance their talents, learn the values of cooperation and leadership, build group communication skills, develop presence and confidence, all while discovering and experiencig their own creative process. The Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley's Riverbend School of Theater Arts was developed to support activities that enrich the lives of our members, and bring great theater to the Souhegan Valley community. Our programs provide opportunities for youth to participate in classes and workshops ranging from dancing and vocals, to musical theater, writing, and auditioning. In addition we offer apprentices technical theater arts including sound, stage management, costumes, lighting and more.
